Could there be some big excitement on the horizon for bitcoin enthusiasts?

We probably should not speculate, but a tweet from digital currency payments processor BitPay has us nothing short of intrigued.

Curious?

We are too. And we can’t help but to wonder whether or not the Atlanta-based company has an announcement of epic proportions to make.

But let’s not get too excited here.

Over the past few months, we’ve had a number of these “big” announcements made, most famously from Blockchain.info.

The company’s CEO, Nic Cary, took to Twitter on at least two occasions to tease two “big” news items. Those announcements, for the most part, fell short of community expectations — once made for the opening of a ZeroBlock exchange, and another for the acquisition of the Blockchain.com domain name.

BitPay’s wording today seemingly takes a jab at Cary’s previous teases — but we won’t know for sure if it truly is a big deal until they make an announcement.

NEWSBTC has reached out to BitPay in attempts to gather more information on just what they’re on about but did not immediately receive a response before publishing time.

Should we get a response (and let’s be real, if there’s an announcement incoming, they’re likely keeping their lips sealed) we’ll update you accordingly.
