Alpharetta, Georgia-based CampBX today announced some unfortunate news on the front of ACH and wire transfers for users looking to both deposit and withdraw funds from the bitcoin exchange.
The exchange’s banking partner has jumped ship “due to regulatory uncertainty and recent spate of negative news for Bitcoins,” according to a statement posted on the service’s website.
CampBX states that all withdrawal transfers not yet processed will be refunded to user accounts by 5pm Eastern time on Saturday, Feb. 1st.
“All USD and BTC balances are accounted for,” the company states, seemingly in hopes of not starting a panic.
The company says they are looking for another partner in order to resume ACH and wire transfers as soon as possible. No timeframe has been provided.
Depositing via wire and ACH have been highly-anticipated features at CampBX. The methods did make it to a beta period, but alas, not much further. The news certainly does show that there is no short of fear, uncertainty, and doubt when it comes to traditional financial institutions and digital currency.
CampBX did not immediately reply to a request from newsBTC for additional comment.
