Merchants using Coinbase’s services to accept bitcoin payments may be particularly interested to know that the San Francisco-company has improved their checkout payment pages, giving them a refreshed look and improved functionality, while allowing merchants greater flexibility when customizing these pages.
For customers already logged into Coinbase, two-click purchasing has not been affected, and sending bitcoin payments is still quick as ever.
Some new items however include the ability for merchants to add cover pages, as show in this image:
Merchants can get really creative here, and make their checkout pages stand out from others. But perhaps the two benefits that will most benefit the consumers interacting with the checkout pages are 1.) the buyback feature; and 2.) page responsiveness.
Coinbase introduced Buyback this past summer, if you will recall. The feature allows Coinbase users to automatically replenish their bitcoin wallets with the exact amount of bitcoin spent on the last transaction. So, if for example, I were to buy a new television for 1.00 BTC, I could buy back 1.00 BTC to keep my bitcoin holdings the same as it was.
As far as Buyback integration into the checkout pages, Coinbase now will allow shoppers to immediately buy back bitcoin without having to go back to their control panel. Pretty convenient, don’t you think?
Responsiveness is also a term you may be familiar with if you build websites or know a tiny bit about web design. In short, it’s the adaptation of a particular web page depending on the device, monitors, etc — keeping it easy to view and interact with on-screen elements.
