Bitgert has announced that holders of its native token, BRISE, can now stake them on the Gate.io centralized crypto exchange. In a Twitter post, the novel crypto project that boasts a gas fee-free blockchain said the staking exercise would allow BRISE holders to earn up to 100% annual percentage yield (APY).

Gate.io describes the staking exercise as “Lock and Earn” on its blog. In a publication, the centralized exchange announced the staking exercise would launch at 8:00 UTC today, July 18, 2023, with an investment term of 90 days.
Other information provided by Gate.io about the staking exercise includes a starting position of 19,538,880 BRISE and a maximum position of 1,109,243,700 BRISE. The exchange also notified users that it would distribute the principal and interest in the staking exercise at the end of the lock-up period.
Bitgert community members expressed excitement at the launch of the BRISE staking exercise. Responding to Bitgert’s tweet, several users praised the development and inquired when it would activate a similar process on other centralized exchanges like MEXC and Huobi.
Bitgert did not mention whether the BRISE staking will be expanded to other centralized exchanges. The project was also silent on any further plans but encouraged BRISE holders to explore the opportunity provided through staking on Gate.io.
