Just over a year ago, I started NEWSBTC.com will the sole goal of reporting bitcoin-related news. Over the past year, this hobby has brought me many friends and a unique opportunity to connect with some really smart, awesome people.
As they say, all good things come to an end. It is with a heavy heart that I announce I will be shutting down the website at the end of the month.
My reason is simple: it’s simply too much for me to handle at this point in time. Between my day job and this site, I’ve been spending 70-80 hours per week (that’s a conservative estimate) in front of a computer screen.
I’m almost a robot at this point, and seek desperately to change that.
Moving forward, I hope to have more time to do things I love, like get back in the cockpit of a Cessna and finish off my private pilot’s license. There are more things I’d like to do, of course, but I won’t take up your time with that!
I’ve also been faced with the fact that there are other bitcoin news sites with teams of writers and offices that simply did reporting better than I did. I’m not ashamed to admit that, nor am I bitter. If it’s good for the community, consider me grateful.
With that, I’d like to thank the few readers I had pop by every day and every week. Without your continued support, I would have never had the motivation to keep the site going as long as it has.

Noo! I’ve been a fan since the FB likes were in the single digits (I think i was Like number 9 or so) and I always felt this site picked things up that were missing on coindesk (my other main news site). Its a shame too that someone else doesnt seem to be willing to be taking over the reins. 🙁
