A TV show by the name of ‘Almost Human’ on the American FOX network featured a bitcoin reference on the latest airing on Monday. The program, which takes place in the year 2048, depicts two individuals surrounding a body.
We won’t go into details about the characters and so forth (mostly because I rarely watch television have no idea what it’s about), but a man pulls out what looks like a USB stick and proclaims, “bitcoins”.
“Totally untraceable,” he says — perhaps completely oblivious to the block chain (or maybe since it’s 2048 there have been some advances). Another character (who may actually be a robot) puts his finger to the device and declares it holds 4,999 BTC. Gee, wonder how much that’s worth 35 years in the future.
At any rate, the program hasn’t been doing so hot in the ratings, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this is a guerrilla marketing attempt to get the tech-savvy to tune in.
