San Diego, California-based Genesis Coin has announced the launch of yet another of their bitcoin ATMs.
The Genesis1 kiosk has entered service in Whistler, British Columbia at West Coast Float, a floatation therapy center. Whistler is a west coast tourist hotspot attracting a slew of people every year, who come for world-class skiing experiences.
“As a West Coast resident, I’m very excited to release the Genesis1 in Whistler,” said Evan Rose, Genesis Coin CEO.
Operated by Logicoins, the Genesis1 has made its mark on the industry by not only offering bitcoin, but litecoin and dogecoin transactions. This is the fourth Genesis1 kiosk operating in the wild, so far as we’re aware.
The first two machines were launched at a business center in Tijuana, Mexico, another in Quebec City, and this one.
Canada has, so far, played host to a number of bitcoin ATMs. The country is home to Ottawa-based BitAccess, a fellow manufacturer. Canada is also home to the world’s first two-way bitcoin ATM in Vancouver, manufactured by Las Vegas-based Robocoin.
“We’re confident in the North American Bitcoin ATM market,” says Rose. “Canada has played a crucial role in Bitcoin adoption, and we are elated to see operators deploying our technology in regions of the world which have been historically kind to crypto-currencies.”

When I last caught up with Rose, he told me the company had 12 orders they were working through. Genesis1 ATMs are destined to be in United States, Brazil, Hong Kong (China), and even Australia. Each kiosk starts at $14,500.
The kiosk is accessible by the public from 10AM – 10PM each day of the week.
