Here’s a Look at the Completed Dogecoin Race Car, the ‘Dogecar’

Yes, I’m fully aware that our M.O. is to cover bitcoin news, but it’s the weekend and this is simply too great to look over.

By now you’ve almost certainly heard of dogecoin. If you haven’t, it’s what’s referred to as an “altcoin”, or alternative digital currency. And while each dogecoin isn’t as valuable as a bitcoin, the currency has an awesome, friendly community behind it.

Which is why they decided to start a fundraiser to sponsor a NASCAR race car driver, Josh Wise, at the Talladega Superspeedway after a dogecoin user, Denis Pavel, noticed Wise’s car was unsponsored.

The community managed to raise 60 million doge (or $55,000) to make it happen, and by golly, it’s happened. In less than two weeks, too.

On the Dogecoin subreddit, an image of the finished car was submitted today, and it’s looking quite lovely.

Look’s like she’s ready to race full-force at Talladega on May 4th. Will you watch the race?
