Several government bodies in India recently adopted Lynked.World’s exciting new platform in an effort to simplify citizen engagement and identification processes in the country. Once a user has gone through the platform’s data identification process, verified data can be used via a simple, unique QR code. The app aims to give people convenient and secure ownership and control of their own identification data and to share digitally authenticated identity data and documents without having to be physically present at any particular location.
Some government agencies in India have recognized the importance of adopting an ecosystem that allows its citizens to securely engage with them in order to expedite the meeting of residents’ needs while still being able to ensure that identities are verified and legal. Recently, for instance, some municipalities, including the Durgapur Municipal Corporation and Bankura Municipal Corporation, both in West Bengal, have integrated the platform into their administrative functions to allow citizens to quickly apply for documents such as birth certificates. Bankura has 3.5 million residents, so simplifying identification processes there is crucial for the effective delivery of services by the municipal corporation.
