A national chain of Adobe, Apple, and Autodesk authorized software training centers run by Ledet Training is moving in a new direction with the launch of a two-day bitcoin training course for professionals.
The course is designed to teach both business managers and professionals the impact of bitcoin on today’s commerce, and also how bitcoin might be used with relation to their own businesses.
Those who attend will discover how they can accept bitcoin (and why). In addition, they’ll learn how to build and integration a bitcoin-friendly infrastructure, how they can transfer value from one vendor to another, and how bitcoin can be used to improve their business strategy.
“While media attention tends to focus on high-profile stories like the volatility in the virtual currencies price among traders, the news that doesn’t gather as much attention is the story about how Bitcoin has been steadily growing as a trusted payment technology by billion-dollar companies such as Dell Computer, Overstock.com, Dish Network and Expedia as well as a tens of thousands of smaller technology literate companies around the world. As the technology has matured, more and more business leaders and small business owners are quietly getting on board,” said Sterling Ledet, who heads Ledet Training.
Despite the increased rate of adoption, bitcoin remains a confusing to your average business professional, mostly because it’s unlike anything the world has ever seen.
“There is a lot to learn,” Ledet adds. “and while mistakes can be costly, those who implement the technology wisely and effectively in their business can gain a strong competitive advantage. Professionals in companies of all sizes need a simple way to learn the fundamentals of Bitcoin technology easily in a structured form so they can understand how to integrate the technology effectively as well as how this technology will impact them, their companies and the business landscape.”
Four sessions are currently open in October, November, and December at Ledet’s headquarters in Atlanta (and online). The cost per class is $895, and upon review of their website, they do appear to accept bitcoin.
They have also made the syllabus for the course available here.
Thanks for the mention Eric. Not so much a new dimension. Our slogan has been “we teach the cool stuff” since 1996!
