An Australian bitcoin exchange — 21st Century Bitcoin Exchange — is soon planning to launch the first bitcoin ATM in the land down under, in Melbourne, according to a report published in Business Insider.

“With Bitcoins revolutionising traditional monetary transactions, Australia-based 21st Century Bitcoin Exchange is the first company to set up a Bitcoin ATM in the country,” said the company in a statement on the matter.

In addition to launching the first bitcoin ATM in the country (details on this element specifically are few), the company is reported to soon begin discussions with officials in the country to regulate the bitcoin economy.

21st Century’s CEO, Jamie McIntyre, is also planning the Bitcoin Global Conference, the first bitcoin conference in Australia, taking place in March. McIntyre is hoping to secure the Winklevoss twins as key speakers at the event. (via BusinessInsider)
