FitEvo Emerges as New Frontrunner in Crypto’s Recent Move-to-Earn Movement

Fitevo

FitEvo, previously known as Dragon Evolution, has undergone a major rebrand, not only in name, but also in its game mechanic by pursuing the hottest trend lately in the blockchain gaming world: move-to-earn. With this recent change in direction, it’s worth taking a look into the project to see what has changed, what hasn’t, and what the 2.0 of STEPN, FitEvo, is all about.

A Pivot Towards Health

Move-to-earn (M2E), the next iteration of the play-to-earn gameplay mechanic, is set out to take the world by storm as it awakens to the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle and social life to stay healthy both physically and mentally.

FitEvo, as part of their rebranding from an action-based bullet play-to-earn game called Dragon Evolution, has followed suit and made an important pivot towards the more sustainable (and healthy!) move-to-earn style. Now instead of gamers tapping away on their screens to earn, they’ll be encouraged to stay active to earn.

Although the name and the earning mechanic have changed, the game itself has not changed too much since the rebranding, with the Dragons and characters, the token burning mechanism, evolution, breeding and hatching system still very much intact.

However, the pivot to M2E has allowed developers to add additional unique game mechanics to further improve the gaming experience through implementing Move to Hatch, Move to Breed, and Move to Evolve features. By connecting breeding, hatching and evolving to the user’s movements, a more intimate relationship with their dragon companions can be hatched.

FitEvo – Co-Evolve With Your Dragon

The essence of the game remains the same – you hatch your own dragon that you can evolve through battling other players or the environment. You can either play on your own or team up with others to participate in larger battles. As you evolve your dragon, you get the chance to upgrade its various traits to make it even more desirable, ensuring the future breeding of new dragons will yield more sought-after traits. And, of course, all in-game assets are tradeable on the NFT marketplace.

With the recent migration to move-to-earn gameplay, the main features of the game have become directly linked to the user’s movement. Mindless tapping on the screen has been replaced by movement, be it running, walking, yoga or shopping. Hatching dragons has transformed into move-to-hatch – to start off the game, a player’s own movements in the real world will translate to the hatching of their first egg. Once the player has grown their own dragon or dragon family, they can focus on the breeding of the dragons through the move-to-breed mechanism, which, of course, is linked to the movement of the players, ensuring their physical activity is always linked to their dragon development.

Feeding is a new concept introduced to ensure that the dragons get proper nutrition to achieve the best possible breeding outcomes.

The most important aspect of the game, and its most recent pivot, is to ensure that the player evolves together with their dragon instead of only the dragon, through movement – and this is where the move-to-evolve feature of the game shines the brightest. By synchronizing the player’s movement in the physical world with their dragon’s evolution in the digital realm, the game creates an intimate relationship between the two. Through ever-increasing levels of physical activity will it be possible to evolve dragons further, ensuring the players will not become complacent with their achievements, and will strive to further push themselves to the limit through physical exertion.

The game will also boast a feature that will be the first of its kind in the world of M2E games – a multiplayer mode, which will allow players to exercise together with their friends through the Spirit Signal feature. Traditional fitness apps like Strava have demonstrated the power of socialization among fitness-loving individuals, and the extra motivation that peer pressure and a friendly competition between friends can do to one’s physical activity levels cannot be denied. In essence, this feature will enable EvoFit users to not only co-evolve with their dragons, but also with their friends.

Earning Opportunities Of FitEvo

The earning process is directly linked to your dragon evolution process, which itself is linked to your physical movement. This means that the more you move, the more you earn!

The Active Points feature is a new addition that introduces additional opportunities to earn through referrals, interact with other players, complete missions, and contribute to the community.

Move-To-Earn On The Rise

It’s certainly not debatable that the M2E movement (pun intended!) is the more healthy alternative to the screen-based pursuits of the P2E economies. Whether or not it will actually become the dominant trend in the world of blockchain-based gaming is yet to be seen, but it seems that the space is seeing the benefits of pivoting to M2E and is changing its plans accordingly, as has been exemplified by FitEvo’s most recent rebranding.

Not only is M2E appealing to gamers, but also to those who are active physically with or without game incentives. Why not take the opportunity to monetize your movement if you’re already moving without monetary compensation? As mentioned in this Boxmining article on the rise of the M2E movement, it’s clear that we’re likely to see more and more M2E games pop up, as 2022’s hottest trend keeps heating up.

FitEvo’s move towards M2E might be a bold move considering the fan base they’ve already grown (6k on Discord, and 40k on Twitter), but it’s likely to be the right one, considering the most recent market trends, and the general public’s push towards a more healthy physical and mental state of being after having experienced two years of constant covid lockdowns and staying at home for extended periods.
