Worldcoin (WLD) launched on July 24th, and Sam Altman’s latest venture seeks to introduce a blockchain-based proof of humanity. A tiny percentage of the total supply was released (1%), leading to an outrageous FDV, which would put $WLD in the top ten projects.

Worldcoin is undoubtedly one of the altcoins to watch. It aims to introduce a global identity framework by authenticating proof of humanity via an iris scan. Sam Altman believes it will provide the foundation for a universal basic income scheme, and the protocol leverages zk snarks to ensure privacy. This zero-knowledge proof obscures the link between a user’s eyeball and their wallet address.
The team launched 1% of the circulating supply of the native token $WLD in late July, and it rallied but has since significantly retraced. Worldcoin remains one of crypto’s most controversial protocols, but analysts forecast a bullish outcome for $WLD following its 70% dip. They predict the token targeting a range high of $5.78 next year.
