Ether Camp’s Virtual Accelerator to Incubate Startups

Ether Camp, the organizer of the biggest hackathon in the blockchain space is up with its second edition. The Virtual Accelerator (VA) was launched with the intent of providing transparent and true acceleration to blockchain developers around the world.

Transparency is the key for the Virtual Accelerator. There are different ‘camps’ of developers from around the world participating in it. The developers of various ‘camps’ work together on a completely transparent project.

The concepts of these projects are available for the people to see. If interested, one can also see the code being written live on their open IDE. People can also support the ‘camps’ by voting for them or by buying some of their coins. Each camp has a unique page that people can visit to learn more about it.

The tokens allow the holders to show their conviction for a project. Therefore, the use of blockchain technology and smart contracts make for a transparent evaluation and rankings.

The Virtual Accelerator also opens its registration months in advance and also encourages the participants to share their ideas publicly. This attracts people to join their teams and also helps in gathering user input for prototypes from the early adopters.

The Virtual Accelerator also benefits the early backers of a project by letting them evidence their conviction using units of uniform value. The rights of early adopters who support an idea and project at the initial stages are enforced by the Solidity [Reitwiessner 2015] smart contract deployed to the Ethereum blockchain.

The Virtual Accelerator is an ideal platform to turn an idea into reality. It not just allows for the presentation, testing and launch of ideas, but also to find teammates based on mutual interests, shared values and complementary skill sets. Moreover, it also allows the early backers to be turned into kickstart backers and to fund the project using the tokenizing feature available to each startup team
