Cartesi Launches an Incubation Program Rewarding Developers to Build DApps in Linux

More than $80K in awards to the best three DApps

Cartesi, an innovator in the blockchain space, today announces the start of the Cartesi DApp Incubation Program. Developers can apply for the program until October 12, 2020.

Erick Demoura, CEO & Co-Founder of Cartesi said, “Cartesi is the only infrastructure that allows developers to use a Linux environment to build DApps. Developers can now conveniently build their DApps outside of the frustratingly restrictive, blockchain development environment. With the Incubation Program we are not only giving developers the opportunity to finally build the DApp of their dreams, but we are also rewarding them handsomely for their achievement.”

More than 80,000 USD total in awards

The Cartesi DApp Incubation Program in partnership with Gitcoin, is a 3-month program that will reward the best three DApps with more than $80K USD in prizes.  Each team is free to request a budget of up to 20K USD for 3 months, as long as it is clearly justified by the amount of work involved in the development cycle and the team’s specified milestones.

Teams are free to build their DApp in their preferred industry. At the end of the program, Cartesi will offer an additional $20K in a matching pool. The Gitcoin community will get to decide how those funds are distributed among the projects by voting with their money determined by the Quadratic Funding system.

Being part of the Incubation Program comes with its own set of additional perks. During the 3-month program, participants will get mentoring and training by world-renowned experts in the blockchain space.

Developers wishing to build their DApp on Linux, and to be at the forefront of a significant technology breakthrough, can click here to apply by October 12, 2020.

Cartesi was founded in 2018 by a team of well-accredited academics, business experts and software engineers, and is building an operating system for DApps. Cartesi allows decentralized applications to run within a Linux environment. Complex processing can be executed off-chain, free from a blockchain’s computational limits and corresponding fees but without compromising decentralization. Cartesi has received funding by prominent investors and funds such as SNZ, SOSV, Artesian and recently concluded a public-sale event with Binance. The team’s vision is to make the development of DApps easy, scalable, and cost-efficient by incorporating tools developers already use.
