Yet another Bitcoin Embassy is expected to open its doors with the mission of promoting the bitcoin digital currency as it continues to gain traction around the world.
Bitcoin Embassy Amsterdam, as it’s know, is gearing up for a December 12th opening in, well, Amsterdam. That’s according to Dutch bitcoin blog Coincourant, who notes that the Embassy is situated near a courthouse in the city.
The Embassy will feature a meeting area, conference area, and even work spaces for companies in the industry, which should prove useful considering all of the interesting bitcoin happenings in Amsterdam.
At the Embassy, visitors can expect a shop and also a Bitcoin Teller Machine (BTM), which allows for the easy conversion between fiat currency and bitcoin.
A number of companies have come together to sponsor the Embassy, of which includes BitPay and MrBitcoin.
It’s just one of several bitcoin embassies that have opened in recent history. Other embassies are located in Paris, Montreal, and more.
Here in the United States, the Bitcoin Center NYC exists, which you could say is an embassy of sorts for the digital currency. Located in the financial district of Manhattan, the Center holds weekly events that attract a decent number of enthusiasts.
HI there,
Small mistake, there is currently no real “embassy” in Paris (like the one in Warsaw or Montréal).
It’s nothing official, it’s a mere information center.
But I like it quite a lot !
