An innovative platform, GoldMint that operates gold-backed cryptoassets has launched its ICO on September 20, 2017, and has already raised $4.5 mln. Charlie Shrem is a renowned American entrepreneur and Bitcoin advocate is now helping GoldMint’s team to implement their project. He first invested in Bitcoin back in 2011 but lost his investments when the service he was using crashed. He then partnered with some friends he met online to start Bitinstant, where Bitcoin users could purchase and make purchases with Bitcoin from over 700,000 locations for a fee. He is also the founder member of the Bitcoin Foundation, which was established in 2012 to standardize and promote Bitcoin. He was also featured in the 2014 documentary, The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, which documented the origins and development of Bitcoin. He co-founded Intellisys Capital and joined Jaxx, the multi-platform blockchain cryptocurrency wallet, in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
The advisory board is also going through expansion, with Daniel Kottke coming on board. He was a college friend of Steve Jobs, the Apple founder, and among the first Apple employees. In the summer of 1976, he was the first few to assemble and test the boards for a company called Call Computers, which was among the first companies to take an interest in Steve Job’s work. He then discovered his interest in computers and decided to pursue his interest and became employee #12 of Apple in 1977.
On the other hand, the second adviser, Leonid Boguslavsky, has been in the IT business since the 1980s. He partnered with Boris Berezovsky to sell Oracle software and then went on to make his fortune, estimated at $1.06 Billion (according to Forbes), through venture capital investments. His first successful investment was in the Russian search engine firm Yandex. Other ventures include; DataDog, Germany’s Delivery Hero, India’s Snapdeal, and FreeCharge in the U.S. He is the Chairman and CEO of the investment firm ru-Net. Leonid holds a Ph.D. and doctorate in Computer Science. So what does he bring on board? Start-up Expertise, both from the early stages of Apple Inc and Oracle.
