Tokenized funds are getting a much more traditional piece of plumbing.
DTCC has added Oasis Pro Markets, working with Ondo Finance, to its Fund/SERV network as the system’s first tokenization-focused member.
Fund/SERV sits deep inside the U.S. investment-fund industry, processing more than 85% of mutual fund order transactions.
That makes this less flashy than another token launch, but arguably more important.
Tokenization Meets Existing Market Infrastructure
One of the biggest challenges for tokenized assets is not issuing the token.
It is connecting that token to everything institutions already use.
Fund managers, distributors, transfer agents and brokers rely on established systems for orders, settlement and recordkeeping.
Replacing all of that overnight is unrealistic.
Oasis Pro’s integration offers a different route.
Tokenized funds can keep their blockchain layer while still plugging into familiar DTCC infrastructure for fund processing.
That reduces the amount of entirely new operational machinery institutions need to adopt.
DTCC Is Not Becoming A DEX
There is an important distinction here.
Fund/SERV is not opening a public token exchange and DTCC is not suddenly running a decentralized trading venue.
The integration covers fund-order routing, processing and recordkeeping.
That may sound less exciting, but it is precisely the type of back-office integration tokenized assets need if they are going to move beyond experiments.
Traditional finance rarely replaces infrastructure all at once.
New systems tend to connect to old systems first.
Ondo and Oasis Pro are doing exactly that.
